Meet Jean, my new poster girl for the studio. As a retired cancer survivor she has the courage to try something new, and not only that, she truly epitomises the key elements of a successful gong player of being fully in the moment expressing her love and joy through her mallets. Anyone can hit a gong and make noise. To play in a way to transform the audience requires playing consciously with unwavering attention, remaining connected to source and parking the ego at the door.
Jean also has a zest for life that serves as an example to us all. Yes, we all have setbacks, yes, sometimes things do not go our way, but we have a choice of sitting and wallowing in our own negativity or with a change in perspective, realising these challenges are simply learning bumps in the roadmap of life.
Aside from learning to play the gongs, Jean is also helping at the studio. Honestly, I would not be here, 4.5 years on without the support, time, loyalty and effort of my gong CATS. From Jenny, Makin and Sally in the very early days to my extended CAT family in Singapore who supported me at the Global Wellness Summit last week the studio continues to move from strength to strength ever mindful of the goal to bring gongs to the people. Speaking at this prestigious event to hundreds of CEO's in the luxury hotel and spa industry was the culmination of years of hard work and faith and served to validate that our collective effort is making a mark.
