Follow the rabbit

January 19, 2023 Martha Collard

In the song White Rabbit ‘the dormouse said - Feed your head’. Grace Slick meant follow your curiosity. We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. Walt Disney If you are lucky enough to spy a white rabbit you will experience blessings of many kinds. It implies closing doors and new chapters in your life. If you do not see a rabbit “The best thing … is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn.” T.H. White

This week follow those hunches and coincidences and be open to possibilities.

Curiosity did not kill the cat

The secret to longevity isn’t the fountain of youth. It’s curiosity.

Anyone who keeps learning stays young.- Henry Ford And the secret to learning is curiosity – a desire to know.

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. – Eugene O’Neill   There is no doubt that the more you learn, the more you want to know.  And You'll never know everything about anything, especially something you love. - Julia Child  So let your curiosity be greater than your fear. Pema Chodon For you will find curiosity leads you down new paths. – Walt Disney To new adventures, new friendships and new memories.

The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I realise, the less I know. -  Michel Legrand

Uncharted waters

Uncharted Waters

In the middle ages they believed the world was flat and if you sailed far enough in one direction you would fall off the edge.  Columbus and other adventurers  'going boldly where no man has gone before' - Star Trek  proved them wrong.

Humanity on mothership earth is in uncharted territory.  Normally we refer to the lessons of the past. There are none. Earth is our ship.  Survival our destination.  We have no map and limited resources. Yet like a crew on a ship in peril we have each other. Our resourcefulness, our ability to adapt, to support each other with resilience, grace and even humour.  It is not a question of 'me' but of 'we'.  Albert Einstein said In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity and Lincoln said the best way to predict your future is to create it.  Our future may not be clear, however this too shall pass.  And we shall walk together into a brave new world. Our resolution will determine the survival of us all. Adlai Stevenson.
