Get on your Feet

Wake up, get up, show up and never give up. anon

My theme for this week was sidetracked when my feet started moving to this song at the gym. Listening to the lyrics I thought, yes, it's time.  I hope it brings a smile, and kickstarts your day.

Get on Your Feet by Gloria Estefan (listen here)

You say I know it's a waste of time
There's no use trying
So scared that life's gonna pass you by
Your spirit dying
Not long ago
I could feel your strength and your devotion
What was so clear, is now overcast
With mixed emotions
Deep in your heart is the answer
Find it, I know it will pull you through

Get on your feet
Get up and make it happen
Get on your feet
Stand up and take some action

I think it's true that we've all been through
Some nasty weather
Let's understand that we're here
To handle things together
You gotta keep looking onto tomorrow
There's so much in life
That's meant for you

Get on your feet
Get up and make it happen
Get on your feet
Stand up and take some action
Get on your feet
Don't stop before it's over
Get on your feet
The weight is off your shoulders...

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you don't stop. Confucius

Inspiration

Keep you face towards the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you. Walt Whitman

Sunflowers symbolize faith, happiness, long life and good luck. They are cheerful flowers used to remove toxins and pollutants from nuclear disaster sites and inspire artists such as Van Gough and scientists too. They are heliotropes, plants that track the movement of the sun from east to west. A team of scientists at UCLA replicated this feature into solar arrays to maximise exposure to the sun.

The definition of inspiration is a person or thing that excites or stimulates, it can be a creative idea, divine guidance or the act of breathing air into the lungs. Often times we seek inspiration. We know what we are but not what we may be. Shakespeare So we seek, if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. Vince Lombardi. Sometimes doubts and fears arise, we feel we are not making the progress we had hoped, setbacks occur.  Robert Louis Stevenson suggested that we do not judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant.  For it is the wise man who plants trees knowing they will never sit in their shade. Rabinranath Tagore This week I invite you to look with new eyes to seek inspiration from nature, after all the secret of getting ahead is getting started. Mark Twain

Reflections from Nature

Nature often holds up a mirror so we can see more clearly the ongoing processes of growth, renewal and transformation in our lives. Lao Tzu  Dragonflies are messengers. Living in air and water they are tied to our emotions and mind giving us clarity of thought and spirit.  Their ability to fly at 45mph and even backwards reminds us to be flexible, adaptable and to embrace new perspectives.  Cease trying to work everything out with your minds, it will get you nowhere.  Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be a Revelation. - Eileen Caddy

Although dragonflies live up to a year, the vast majority of time is as a swimming larva reminding us to approach each day with positivity and gratitude. Nothing lasts forever. Not even your troubles. Arnold H. Glasgow  In Japan it is a harbinger of change and rebirth, the symbol of summer, of victory, courage and strength and they are even known to restore health.  This week restore lightness to your spiritual wings and mental processes by finding joy in simplicity and peace through positivity. Through the return to simple living comes control of desires. in control of desires stillness is attained. in stillness the world is restored. Lao Tzu
