Gong Top of the World 2 - Yi Tung Shan, Lantao

November 24, 2022 Martha Collard

Climb some hills at sunrise. Everybody needs perspective, you will find it there. - Robb Sagendorph (publisher of Farmer's Almanac)

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains. John Muir

The clouds parted long enough for the sun to cast a shadow on an otherwise overcast but extremely windy morning.

Listen to the wind blow...watch the sunrise. (Fleetwood Mac)

Accomplished drone photographer Tom O'Grady and I are on a mission of photographing gongs on top of hilltops with an intention to spread positive healing energy from the highest peaks around HK.  We hope you're inspired.  (video coming soon)

Nature Sounds

October 7, 2022 Martha Collard

Playing at sunset I glanced over my shoulder and noticed movement. Squinting I spied a doe as she picked her way noiselessly through the undergrowth. Outdoors, I move, breathe and play in concert with the rustling of the leaves. I harmonise with the birds and in this case a vey loud cricket. Am I playing to, for, or with nature? My energy field expands sending waves of peaceful healing in all directions. I Am One.

Silence, healing. Heraclitus

June 9, 2022 Martha Collard

“Only by going alone in silence, without baggage, can one truly get into the heart of the wilderness.” John Muir

Silence is the absence of sound or a period of time without noise and can be seen as a blessing or a curse. Currently the World Record in an anechoic chamber (sound proof room) is only 2 hrs.  Yet there is something quite magical and sacred to knowingly seek it.

Silence when found will rest of the mind. It is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.” William Penn

It is a source of great strength. Lao Tzu and also inspiration. Listen to it, it has so much to say. Rumi

So this week I invite to you proactively immerse yourself in nature, Through (its) portals of silence, the healing sun of wisdom and peace will shine upon you. Paramahansa Yogananda

Gong for a Walk

January 13, 2022 Martha Collard

When the going gets tough, the tough get walking.

The studio is closed due to government restrictions. Serendipitously I received an invitation for the HK Coastal Trail Challenge. Honestly I had never considered the possibility of circumnavigating the island but Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time. Steven Wright

My team name is 'Gong for a Walk'. Armed with a titanium gong and looking like a teenage mutant turtle we started walking clockwise towards Pok Fu Lam spreading positive energy and intention one step at a time.

With the gyms closed I turn to Walking as the most ancient exercise and still the best modern exercise. Carrie Latet. Plus you have time to explore, discover and make new friends. I look forward to the next stages with optimism for with each step I Walk towards the good in life and one day you (it) will arrive. Atticus

Reflections from Nature

Nature often holds up a mirror so we can see more clearly the ongoing processes of growth, renewal and transformation in our lives. Lao Tzu  Dragonflies are messengers. Living in air and water they are tied to our emotions and mind giving us clarity of thought and spirit.  Their ability to fly at 45mph and even backwards reminds us to be flexible, adaptable and to embrace new perspectives.  Cease trying to work everything out with your minds, it will get you nowhere.  Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be a Revelation. - Eileen Caddy

Although dragonflies live up to a year, the vast majority of time is as a swimming larva reminding us to approach each day with positivity and gratitude. Nothing lasts forever. Not even your troubles. Arnold H. Glasgow  In Japan it is a harbinger of change and rebirth, the symbol of summer, of victory, courage and strength and they are even known to restore health.  This week restore lightness to your spiritual wings and mental processes by finding joy in simplicity and peace through positivity. Through the return to simple living comes control of desires. in control of desires stillness is attained. in stillness the world is restored. Lao Tzu

Be the calm

It's about finding calm in the chaos. Donna Karan

Not a day goes by without an eye catching headline escalating anxiety and fear. Long ago I learned to stop asking "what else?"   I believe in taking a step back, gain perspective and focus on that which you can control. You can't calm the storm, so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass. - Timber Hawkeye

Deep down nature is inherently peaceful, calm and beautiful, The universe as a whole is perfect. The chaos is on the surface. - Amit Ray.  Neutrality gives us the power of choice. One way of finding inner calm is through sound.  “When one tunes in into nature’s frequency, life becomes change, change becomes hope!” - Aniekee Tochukwu Ezekiel.

“You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.”― Pema Chödrön
