I see you. I hear you. I am here for you.
It is only human to have our ups and downs. Regardless of how much money we have, our age or position in life, every now and then you can feel overwhelmed. Over committing, not able to say 'no' and simply the demands of the holiday season can be enough to tip us over the edge of exhaustion, when outwardly we say 'I'm fine' and inwardly we say 'Im not!'.
Retreating is one option. Friends and family are either dismissive or offer well intentioned advice. Sometimes though all you need is a hand to hold, an ear to listen and a heart to understand. anon
My work involves holding space. When you offer your entire presence to walk along with another without judgment, sharing their journey to an unknown destination. You're completely willing to end up wherever they need to go. It requires listening with empathy, emotionally connecting and communicating that incredible message of 'you are not alone'. To outsiders holding space may look like nothing is happening when in reality it is one of the most powerful gifts you can give. We are sending them a message that they matter. This is the gift of presence. Danielle Doby
February is the month of love. This week I invite you to consciously gift your presence, to hold space for someone - to be fully present, to be aware of what is happening physically, energetically, emotionally and intellectually while letting go of outcomes. You will be glad you did.
Surrender to what is. Let go of what once was. Have faith in what will be. Sonia Ricotti
