Seven on My Mind

April 14, 2017 Martha Collard

Sat nam
The final of the rugby sevens was truly remarkable. Fiji pulled together to win their first game in many months, to retain their HK 7's crown and to decidedly beat South Africa who had great hopes of maintaining their international lead. What was it that drove the Fijians? HK isn't their home turf, the conditions were perfect, so if it wasn't luck, what was it?

I believe the answer may lie in the number seven itself.  It symbolises perfection and the seeker of truth.  To be champions implies perfection, but  sometimes games are won or lost due to a mistake, a fumble, a missed pass, the weather or bad judgement on the part of the other team. This game did not.

Many famous athletes show deep reverence and thanks for their abilities and I believe in this case the answer lies is that which is intangible - belief.  Each Fijian was a humble seeker. Together, their strong belief allowed them to play seamlessly, effortlessly and completely in flow.  They were a joy to watch.

With the Easter holiday upon us, we are thinking of new beginnings, the growth of new ideas, opportunities, and personal development.  I invite you to look at your list, approach each new challenge with a  vision of success and a strong belief based on trust that you can achieve that what you set out to do if indeed it is for your greater good.

Go well.
