Summer is a state of mind
The dictionary has a definition for holiday feeling- a positive feeling people experience while on holiday. As the summer solstice marks the transition into a new season schools are breaking up, the excitement of long days, picnics and a change of pace occupy our minds. There is a sense of ease dressed in the casual attire of flip flops, hats and shades, new flavours of ice cream and long cool drinks. Some make the trek home to visit family while others find ways to change the pace without venturing afield.
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
― John Lubbock, The Use Of Life
