Seek And Ye Shall Find

May 1, 2017 Martha Collard

“Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, “What road do I take?”

The cat asked, “Where do you want to go?”

“I don’t know,” Alice answered.

“Then,” said the cat, “it really doesn’t matter, does it?

Recently I met a group of young professionals who held a belief that they were not living the lives they were meant to live but were unable to pinpoint exactly what it is that they sought. Oftentimes one may seek an answer by asking others, taking endless courses, following Gurus, drifting in and out of part time jobs or traveling in the hope the answer magically appears. They say they will 'know' when they find it.

Rather than a shotgun approach that may take years and places power and responsibility into the hands of others, I believe the answer lies within. If only we could still our minds and have the courage to listen to our inner Self rather than our negative self-talk. Bill Bailey believes that the fears we hold on to are stronger than the fears of having what we want to create in the future. He calls it the 'Gravity of the Past'.  Thus to move towards our true potential we must move with sufficient power and purpose to escape the pull of the gravity, like a space ship trying to escape the Earth's atmosphere. One way is to develop a practice such as meditation, walking meditation, chanting, toning, journaling, gong baths, yoga etc that stills the mind and body. Only then will you release the hold of negative energy nuggets and become aware of flashes of insight, intuition and inspiration.

Go well.
